BLACK AND BLUE GHANAIAN CORNROWS

BLACK AND BLUE GHANIAN CORNROWS | TASHIKA BAILEY
Tashika's back at it again with the black and blue hair. Only this time the style is cornrows, more specifically Ghanaian cornrows. This is a style that I've never had before but I've been seeing it all over Instagram and Pinterest. If you know me, you'll know that I love to experiment and add my own unique style to anything from hair to fashion. So instead of getting the "normal" plain black Ghanaian cornrows, I decided to add a touch of "Tashika" to my hairstyle by mixing black with my favorite color, which you already know is... BLUE!

To be completely honest with you, when I entered the salon I had no intention of leaving with Ghanaian cornrows. Initially, I wanted normal cornrows but I wanted the style to graduate from small at the front to thick in the middle and towards the end. Little did I know it would turn into Ghanaian cornrows and that I would love them as much as I do.
To achieve this hairstyle, my hairdresser used 1 pack, yes! just 1 pack of X-pression Braiding Hair in the color 1B (black) which I bought from my local hair and cosmetic store. This pack of hair was cut into 3 equal sections. Finding a pack of full blue braiding hair was definitely a challenge and I couldn't find any in my local area. I ended up buying a mixed pack of black and blue hair just to get the blue hair.

If you live in London then X-pression Braiding Hair is nothing new and shouldn't be hard to find in your local hair and cosmetics store. However, you can also get them online from eBayAmazon and Aliexpress.

I was surprised to see how neat my hairdresser did my hair because it wasn't unbearably tight, which I thought it would be. The streaks of blue add a touch of my personality and the color is vibrant and immediately appealing. To add even more visual interest to my hairstyle, I decided to accessories by adding silver hair cuffs at the ends of each plait. You can find these hair cuffs at your local hair and cosmetics store hopefully or online here and here. I've only had this hairstyle for a week now and I've already received lots of compliments and questions about it.
I personally love this hairstyle of course but I'd love to know your opinions. What do you think of my black and blue Ghanaian cornrows?
